To the Sea: Clay Tile Workshop with Ilse Black

Create a maritime-inspired clay tile or plaque with artist Ilse Black, using relief, coloured slips and sgraffito.

The workshop draws on objects in the Museum’s Maritime Gallery and participants’ own sea-related ideas. Finished work is dried, fired and glazed at Ilse Black’s studio for collection from the Museum four to six weeks later. All experience levels are welcome. 23 January, 10:30–15:30; the workshop costs £65, including materials and refreshments. Bring a packed lunch.
