Southwold Lighthouse Tour
About
A guided climb inside Southwold Lighthouse, with a history talk and broad views over the sea, town and countryside.
The Lighthouse Tour visits the working Southwold landmark, built in 1890. Visitors climb 113 stairs, including a steep ladder near the top; there is no lift. The tour includes a health and safety briefing and a talk on the history of Trinity House. Adnams lists two special sessions: a sunrise visit on 31 October 2026 and a sunset visit on 21 December 2026. Both depart from the Adnams Tours Centre in the Swan Courtyard, Market Place, Southwold IP18 6EG; the lighthouse is the event venue. The general Lighthouse Tour product tariff lists adults at £15.50, children aged 7–17 at £11.50, school adults at £10 and school children at £8; no separate price is published for the named special sessions. Children must be at least seven years old and 1.1 metres tall, climb unaided and be accompanied by a responsible adult, with a maximum of two children per adult. The current public booking schedule lists the exact start and end of each available session; its published schedule intervals are retained for all currently listed dates. The two named special sessions remain the sunrise visit on 31 October and sunset visit on 21 December.
