Treasures of Tutankhamun Family Workshop
About
A family workshop at Lauriston Castle exploring the treasures of Tutankhamun's tomb, with hieroglyph writing and ancient Egyptian crafts for ages 5+.
This family learning workshop at Lauriston Castle explores the treasures found in Tutankhamun's tomb when it was opened in 1922, including curiosities such as his more than 130 walking sticks, a board game and mummified ducklings. Participants learn to write their name in hieroglyphs and hear about the Rosetta-like stone that allowed archaeologists to translate ancient Egyptian symbols. The session is designed around the whole family working together, is suitable for ages 5+, and children must be accompanied by paying adults. It runs on Saturday 7th November 2026 from 10am, led by Lauriston Castle staff.
