Plastic Fantastic?
About
A free exhibition at Wakefield Museum exploring the history, impact and future of plastics, from early 1900s wonder material to today's environmental challenges.
This exhibition traces how plastic emerged in the early 1900s as a cheap, colourful and hard-wearing material that transformed everyday life, becoming something households relied on daily by the late 20th century. It also examines the significant environmental impacts of plastic and explores ideas around reducing, reusing and recycling. Visitors can admire vibrant objects from the era when plastic promised a better life and find out what they can do to help tackle the plastic problem today. The exhibition is supported by The Exhibitions Group.
