About

Phil Heron shares lessons from teaching scientific thinking in prisons and explores how flexible teaching can widen access to science and geoscience.

Drawing on the Think Like A Scientist outreach programme, Heron discusses ways to build critical thinking and participation among learners facing barriers in conventional classrooms. The talk considers how approaches developed in prison education can inform broader science communication. The hour includes a Q&A, with an in-person drinks reception afterwards.
