Chaps & Straps – Queer Line Dancing
About
A beginner-friendly LGBTQIA+ line dancing night in Komedia's basement, teaching three dances with country classics and queer pop anthems.
Chaps and Straps is a social dance night created by and for LGBTQIA+ people, welcoming all levels of confidence and experience. Across the evening three roughly 30-minute lessons teach line dances, with open dance floor time in between to practise and let loose to a mix of country classics and queer pop anthems. Dances are taught with options to suit different gender expressions, and the event especially welcomes Trans, Intersex and Non-Binary attendees. It takes place in the Komedia Basement as a standing show for ages 18+, with dressing up in cowboy hats, denim or leather encouraged but optional.
