Working-Class Podcast: Wuthering Heights
About
A live edition of The Working-Class Library podcast discussing Wuthering Heights through a working-class lens, with Richard Benson, Claire Malcolm and guest Ali Naushahi.
Whitby Lit Fest hosts a live recording of The Working-Class Library podcast, produced by The Bee, New Writing North's magazine championing working-class writers. Hosts Richard Benson (author of The Farm and The Valley) and Claire Malcolm (CEO of New Writing North) are joined by director and writer Ali Naushahi, whose screen credits include Emmerdale and the BBC's Jane Austen: Rise of a Genius. The conversation examines how class, power and belonging shape readings of Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights, from its Yorkshire roots to recent screen adaptations, and asks who gets to tell the stories that define us. The event runs 90 minutes and takes place in person at The Coliseum Centre.
