Different Minds, Deadly Mysteries

Crime writers Sarah Hilary and Matt Baker discuss setting, creativity and mystery in a Whitby Lit Fest conversation.

Whitby Lit Fest hosts an in-person conversation between crime novelist Sarah Hilary, author of the DI Marnie Rome series and The Drowning Place, and screenwriter Matt Baker, creator of Channel 4's Patience and author of A Taste for Murder. The pair will explore how setting shapes characters and the solving of mysteries, how landscape conveys themes of grief and comfort, and how different ways of seeing the world make for unforgettable storytelling. The session lasts 90 minutes.
