Launch Event: The Library of Lost Books Project at Leo Baeck College Library

A launch and roundtable at Leo Baeck College Library introduces the Library of Lost Books project and its search for volumes from a German-Jewish library confiscated and dispersed during the Nazi era.

The launch revisits the project’s effort to trace a Berlin Jewish scholarly library of about 60,000 books, many of which were looted and dispersed after the Nazis closed the Higher Institute for Jewish Studies. Bettina Farack, Irene Aue-Ben-David and Kinga S. Bloch discuss the project with Cassy Sachar, including its public search and library work in London.
