East Finchley to Gospel Oak: Mansions & Lost Rivers with Author Paul Talling
About
A guided walking tour with author Paul Talling from East Finchley to Gospel Oak, taking in Billionaires Row, celebrity homes and the lost streams of the River Fleet.
Paul Talling, author of London's Lost Rivers and Derelict London, leads a roughly four-and-a-half-hour walk starting at Art Deco East Finchley station and ending at Gospel Oak. The route takes in McDonald's UK headquarters, Peter Sellers' former flat and George Michael's birthplace, before the highlight: a walk along The Bishops Avenue (Billionaires Row), where Paul gives commentary on the owners of lavish and often derelict mansions. The final leg passes Kenwood House and looks at head streams feeding the River Fleet around the Highgate ponds.
