River Neckinger Guided Walking Tour with Paul Talling

A guided 4.5-mile walking tour following the lost River Neckinger through Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, led by author Paul Talling.

Paul Talling, author of London's Lost Rivers and Derelict London, leads a roughly 4.5-hour, 4.5-mile walk tracing the lost River Neckinger from Rotherhithe to the Imperial War Museum. The route takes in Edward III's manor house remains, Jacob's Island, forgotten burial grounds, derelict pubs and 'then & now' comparisons of sites from his books, plus locations from music videos by Paul McCartney, Dexys Midnight Runners and X Ray Spex. There is a pub stop along the way and dogs are welcome.
