Christmas Recorder Concert — Society of Recorder Players

The Macclesfield Branch of the Society of Recorder Players gives a free Christmas concert of carols, classical arrangements and contemporary recorder music at the Silk Museum.

The Concert Group of the Macclesfield Branch of the Society of Recorder Players performs a varied Christmas programme at the Silk Museum. The music spans traditional tunes and carols, arrangements of classical and romantic works, and approachable contemporary pieces written for recorder ensembles. Listeners will hear five recorder voices — sopranino, soprano or descant, alto or treble, tenor and bass — with several players changing instruments during the concert. The event runs from 10.15am to 12.15pm and no booking is needed.
