A Paradise of Woven Colour
About
A free photographic exhibition at the Silk Museum showing close-up images of silk and synthetic fabrics woven at Macclesfield's Paradise Mill.
Close-up photographs display silk and synthetic fabrics woven at Macclesfield's Paradise Mill, illustrating how its designers created detailed woven motifs. The exhibition draws on the Cartwright and Sheldon archive and a Pilgrim Trust-funded conservation project that uncovered material untouched for over 40 years. Visitors can drop in free of charge during the museum's Wednesday-to-Saturday opening hours, 10am to 4pm, to explore the town's textile design heritage through images of the rediscovered samples.
