Award-winning company Box Tale Soup bring their puppetry adaptation of Orwell's dystopian novel 1984 to the stage, using their distinctive puppetry as a metaphor for Orwell's vision of power and control. The story follows Winston Smith, a small cog in the Party's machine who dreams of freedom in a world of surveillance, doublethink and Big Brother. The production features the voices of Sophie Aldred and Joanna Lumley, with Simon Russell Beale as the voice of Big Brother, and was an official sell-out show at the Edinburgh Fringe 2025.
