The Archaeology of Lambeth Palace
About
Eben Cooper presents recent MOLA archaeology at Lambeth Palace and explains what investigations through early 2026 reveal about the historic residence.
MOLA Senior Archaeologist Eben Cooper surveys archaeological work at Lambeth Palace, the Archbishop of Canterbury’s London residence. The talk covers investigations by MOLA and predecessors since the 1980s, with a focus on work from 2021 to early 2026 and how it changes understanding of the palace’s development. The in-person lecture is at Institute of Archaeology Lecture Theatre G6; the published lecture time is 18:30–19:30, with refreshments from 18:00. The programme also offers Zoom attendance and welcomes non-members.
