Illuminated lettering workshop

Create an illuminated letter with artist Sarah Davis using traditional transfer techniques, gouache and 23ct gold leaf, inspired by the medieval Wilton Psalter.

Rare book librarian Katie Birkwood introduces the Wilton Psalter with a close look at the original manuscript. Participants then trace a design, lay and burnish gold leaf, and add colour with miniature brushes. Materials, tools, gold leaf and light refreshments are included; lunch is not provided.
