October – 4 Week Physical Theatre Course

A four-week physical theatre and performer-training course in October led by Brighton movement director Mim King.

Brighton Clown School's October skills residency offers professional physical performer training and theatre-making skills over four weekly classes, each month led by a different practitioner. The October sessions are led by movement director Mim King, whose approach draws on her background in clowning, Butoh dance and live art. Course content may include Grotowski warm-up, Ideokinesis, Laban's 8 Effort Actions, Lecoq's 7 States of Tension, mime, animal and elements work, plus ideas of presence and creating atmosphere. Students are encouraged to attend all classes and can email organisers if a session must be missed.
