Paint • Play • Create: Find Your Wild — From Nature to Abstract

A two-hour art workshop with Ellie Lovett transforming close-up observations of natural forms into expressive abstract paintings.

Participants explore a natural reference through playful close-up drawing and mark-making exercises, then develop one discovery into an expressive abstract artwork using acrylics, pastels, chalks and charcoal. The session covers grid exercises, expressive mark-making, and playing with scale, colour and composition, with demonstrations and creative prompts but no painting to copy. All materials are provided and no previous experience is needed; everyone takes home their own artwork.
