Malton Museum Town Tour: Beer and Brewing
About
A guided walking tour of Malton's brewing history, visiting brewery sites and historic pubs and ending at Brass Castle Taphouse.
Malton Museum's experienced guides lead a walk through the town's brewing history, from small unlicensed brewers and local breweries such as Russell's to big names like Cameron's and Tetley's and modern microbreweries like Brass Castle. The tour covers the brewing process, visits the sites of former breweries — Malton had seven commercial breweries in the 19th century — and looks at the many pubs that served the town. It ends at Brass Castle Taphouse, where participants are welcome to linger and taste Malton's brewing heritage. The tour runs 11am to 12.30pm and costs £10 per person, including an information pack.
