Night-time Rockpool Safari

Guided night-time rockpool safari at Flamborough during extremely low tides, seeking out nocturnal creatures such as lobsters, crabs and starfish.

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust runs guided rockpool safaris after dark at Flamborough, timed to extremely low evening tides when nocturnal creatures are active. Participants head onto the rocky shore with torches to look for lobsters, giant crabs and starfish. Three sessions are scheduled between February and April 2027, each lasting about an hour and a half, with start times varying to match the tides. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and wellies or waterproof footwear are required.
