The UK Premiere of The Worcester Pilgrim by Ian Venables

A commemorative evening at Worcester Cathedral marking the 40th anniversary of The Worcester Pilgrim, with talks and the UK premiere of Ian Venables' new work.

Worcester Cathedral hosts a special commemorative event marking the 40th anniversary of the discovery of The Worcester Pilgrim. The evening opens with optional evensong at 5.30pm and a blessing of the Worcester Pilgrim plaque, before the main programme in the Chapter House at 6.30pm. This features short talks on pilgrimage, the medieval pilgrim's discovery and the story behind the composition, followed by a performance of The Worcester Pilgrim for violin and two narrators, with violinist Rupert Marshall-Luck joined by narrators Ben Cooper and Em Marshall-Luck. Drinks and canapés conclude the hour-long event, which raises funds for the John Paul Hoskins Choral Scholar Appeal.
