About

A free practical training day with WDBP and the British Deer Veterinary Association covering deer health, disease recognition and carcass inspection.

This Wild Deer Best Practice training day, delivered with the British Deer Veterinary Association, combines classroom tuition with practical demonstrations on recognising deer health and disease. Topics include notifiable and non-notifiable diseases, signs of ill health, ageing and condition scoring, parasites, anatomy refresher, lymph node identification and carcass inspection. Qualified vets with deer expertise give a presentation and practical postmortem demonstration, and attendees may glove up and take part. The day runs 10am to 3:30pm and aims to help practitioners judge carcass suitability for the food chain and report suspected notifiable diseases.
