Midwife-led Antenatal Practical Skills Class
About
A hands-on midwife-led antenatal class teaching expectant parents practical newborn care skills such as nappy changing and swaddling.
This optional Part 2 of the CAV Community Midwives' Antenatal, Birth and Postnatal Education programme is a three-hour, in-person workshop in the Parentcraft Room at the Midwifery-led Unit, University Hospital of Wales. Experienced community midwives guide expectant parents through practical newborn care skills, from nappy changing to swaddling. It is aimed at those over 32 weeks pregnant, who must first have completed the virtual Part 1 Birth and Postnatal Education Workshop. The class does not cover infant feeding, which is addressed in a separate breastfeeding workshop.
