Newnham Jazz Club Presents Chris Ingham's Steely Jazz
About
Chris Ingham's Steely Jazz quintet reimagines Steely Dan classics in an intimate cabaret-style jazz club evening, part of Cambridge Jazz Festival.
Chris Ingham's Steely Jazz quintet re-examines the Steely Dan songbook of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, exploring the band's rich harmonies and singular melodies through the lens of a small jazz group. The programme includes well-known numbers such as Rikki Don't Lose That Number, Josie and Reelin' in the Years alongside tracks and deep cuts from albums including Aja, Gaucho, Countdown to Ecstasy and Katy Lied. The five-piece line-up features Chris Ingham (piano, voice, guitar), Harry Greene (saxophone, guitar), Paul Higgs (trumpet, piano, melodica), Geoff Gascoyne (double bass) and George Double (drums, voice). The evening takes place in the relaxed cabaret-style setting of Newnham Jazz Club, with a licensed bar available throughout.
