Megalith
About
A loud, lyrical performance piece combining deep-time techno, smashing stones and laptops, and projection design exploring the origins and challenges of mining.
Megalith is a physical performance in which a performer and sound artist duet to deep-time techno and metamorphic soundscapes, with Neolithic flint tools used to smash stones and laptops. The piece explores copper mining's role in powering technology over the last 10,000 years and its 21st-century challenges, with projection design by Limbic Cinema. Presented by the Schwarzman Centre and MECHANIMAL in collaboration with the Museum of Natural History, it is suitable for adults and young people over 12, with under-18s accompanied by an adult. The performance may contain loud noises, flashing lights and occasional explicit language.
