About
A guided tour explores the 1879 underground reservoir and its history, with a short passenger-trailer ride to the reservoir.
Papplewick’s dedicated underground-reservoir tour explains the structure built by Thomas Hawksley in 1879 and its short service career. Admission is an additional £4 per person or £1 for a child under 16, bought at the tour hut on the day, and steam-event admission is also required. Access involves two flights of stairs and moderate fitness; dogs are not permitted.
