The Art of Place: Painting Carlisle, Cumberland and the Lake District with Martin Evans

A one-day acrylic painting workshop with Carlisle artist Martin Evans, inspired by the Picturing Place exhibition at Tullie.

Participants take inspiration from the Picturing Place exhibition at Tullie and work with Carlisle artist Martin Evans to paint a contemporary Cumbrian landscape in acrylic. The day begins with a visit to the exhibition for inspiration, followed by exercises in colour, composition and style based on Martin's loose and expressive approach. After a lunch break, attendees work on a finished canvas to keep, with all materials including canvas, paper, brushes and acrylic paints provided.
