Urban Sketching: Let’s Get Some New Ideas

Urban sketcher Elwyn Edwards leads a gallery-based workshop exploring colour, perspective and mark making, then applying techniques in the studio.

This adult workshop begins with a look at artworks on display, examining how artists such as Graham Sutherland, Eric Ravilious and David Bomberg use colour, perspective and mark making. Participants then move to the gallery studio to apply these techniques to their own sketching using pens, watercolour and collage, working from reference photos rather than outdoors. All materials are provided, all experience levels are welcome, and there is a short lunch break.
