reIMAGINE: Art & Sound

A free opening-night celebration for Black History Season featuring live music, young people's artwork, an interactive reflections wall and Caribbean vegan food.

reIMAGINE: Art & Sound is a Black History Season exhibition exploring Black creativity across the past, present and future. Over six weeks, young artists create original work at Sfumato Art Studio, while young singers and instrumentalists from Stoke Newington Music School explore and perform music connected to different generations of Black artists, including artists with links to Hackney. The project culminates in an opening-night celebration on Friday 6 November 2026 with live performances, an exhibition of young people's artwork, work from a Black professional artist connected to Hackney, an interactive reflections wall and Caribbean vegan food. It is all ages and delivered using funding from Hackney Council's Black History Season programme.
