Lampshade Making - Meadowfield Durham

A beginner-friendly workshop where participants make a 30cm drum lampshade from their own fabric, with no sewing required.

Craft and Create North East CIC run this two-and-a-half-hour lampshade-making workshop at Meadowfield Leisure Centre. Participants learn step by step how to make a 30cm drum lampshade suitable for a ceiling pendant or lamp base, using fabric of their own choice (at least 1 metre wide by over 30cm deep, ideally cotton or linen). No sewing is needed, and the session is suitable for complete beginners and experienced crafters alike. Tuition and the lampshade base are included, extra kits are sold at a discount on the day, and the workshop is subsidised by the National Lottery Community Fund.
