Whitechapel to Wapping Walking Tour
About
A two-hour Open City guided walking tour exploring the architectural and social history of London's East End from Whitechapel to Wapping.
Led by town planner Martin Scholar, this walking tour traces the story of trade and immigration that has shaped the East End, from Whitechapel through Aldgate and Shadwell to the Thames at Wapping. Highlights include Toynbee Hall, Whitechapel Art Gallery and Library, Wilton's Music Hall, the Cable Street Mural, Hawksmoor's St George in the East church, Tobacco Dock and the old docks and warehouses of Wapping. The route covers around two miles and takes approximately two hours, ending with riverside views near Wapping Station.
