Public Open Day Tours
About
Free guided behind-the-scenes tours of the Royal Artillery Museum's stores, featuring historic field guns, artefacts and a presentation on the museum's story.
Guided tours take visitors behind the scenes at the Royal Artillery Museum's Wood Road stores, exploring the small objects store, a collection of field guns from the seventeenth century to the Second World War, and current conservation projects. The tour covers the development and use of artillery pieces from the Tudor era to the Falklands conflict and includes a seated presentation on the museum's story and future plans. The museum's collection dates to 1778 and most of it remains in storage pending a new museum near Larkhill.
