LGBTQ+ Book Group

A free monthly book group at York Theatre Royal discussing LGBTQ+ literature by queer authors, meeting on second Tuesdays for over-18s.

York Theatre Royal's LGBTQ+ Book Group meets monthly on the second Tuesday evening in De Grey House, gathering by the downstairs bar for a drink before an open discussion. Sessions explore a wide spectrum of LGBTQ+ writing, including contemporary fiction, queer classics, memoirs and young adult novels, all by queer authors. The group is open to anyone over 18 regardless of background or prior knowledge, with participants reading the selected book in advance. The November session discusses Kat Dunn's Hungerstone, a sapphic reworking of the vampire novel Carmilla set in the Peak District.
