Absent Friends
About
Pitlochry Festival Theatre stages Alan Ayckbourn's comedy Absent Friends, directed by Owen Horsley, in the Auditorium from March to April 2027.
Alan Ayckbourn's 1974 comedy follows Colin, whose fiancée has recently drowned, as he visits old friends who gather to comfort him while their own lives quietly fall apart. Directed by Owen Horsley, the play explores suburban social discomfort, grief and buried resentments over one awkward afternoon of tea and small talk. Performances run in matinee and evening slots between 13 March and 3 April 2027, with accessible performances including dementia friendly, captioned, audio described and BSL interpreted shows, plus a post-show talk.
