Gilding Workshop – Victorian Christmas Walnut

A specialist festive workshop introducing the traditional craft of gilding, where participants create a Victorian Christmas walnut ornament.

Set against the backdrop of Westonbirt Arboretum, this workshop offers an introduction to the centuries-old craft of traditional gilding. Participants learn to use specialist tools and materials, including applying genuine loose 24ct gold leaf and working with oil-based gilding size. The course also covers the history of gilding and concludes with personalizing the ornament and preparing its presentation box.
