Beginners Stargazing at Potteric Carr
About
An evening stargazing session at Potteric Carr nature reserve with a talk and telescope viewing hosted by Doncaster Astronomical Society.
Doncaster Astronomical Society hosts an evening of night-sky exploration at Potteric Carr nature reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest with minimal light pollution. The session begins with an interactive talk in the visitor centre, followed by outdoor viewing through specialised telescopes, with the chance to observe the Moon, planets, star clusters or galaxies depending on season and weather. Experts offer guidance on telescopes, apps and night-sky photography, and hot drinks are available in the visitor centre. The event runs for two and a half hours and is open to all ages, with under-16s accompanied by an adult.
