3Cs Chess Club

A long-established Oldham children's chess club meeting weekly, offering coaching groups for all skill levels plus games and tournament play.

3Cs (Children's Chess Club) was formed in 1978 to give local school children in the Oldham area the chance to learn chess, and every child is welcomed regardless of skill level. Club nights include games between attendees plus four or five coaching groups organised by skill level so children receive appropriate instruction. The club also teaches the history and traditions of the game, and has won the national British Chess Educational Trust award for its inclusive work, adjusting teaching techniques to accommodate children with special needs or disabilities.
