A Hundred Strings in Oxford: Two Strings, One Pulse

A sitar and santoor concert with tabla at the Holywell Music Room, part of the A Hundred Strings tour.

Adnan Khan (sitar, in the vocal-styled gayaki ang) and Vinay Desai (santoor) perform a shared raga through the contrasting techniques of their plucked and struck string instruments, with Ustad Akram Khan on tabla. The evening follows the pair's different routes through the same raga across two halves, with doors at 6.45pm and music from 7pm. The concert is part of the A Hundred Strings tour and follows last year's Raga Unison at the same venue.
