What Home Gives

An exhibition of Marie Ayodele's paintings and portraits exploring what home provides and what is lost through homelessness.

This exhibition presents selected works from Marie Ayodele's collection on home and homelessness, shown during World Homeless Week. Intimate paintings of domestic moments sit alongside raw portraits of people experiencing homelessness, contrasting what home gives — safety, belonging, connection, dignity and visibility — with what its loss takes away. The artist draws on seven years working in homelessness services, and the work asks where we belong and who is seen.
