Friends of RAS (only): SMILE! For the X-ray camera

Jenny Carter introduces the SMILE mission’s X-ray cameras and how the mission is studying interactions between the solar wind and Earth’s magnetosphere.

The Friends-only talk covers the joint ESA and Chinese Academy of Sciences mission, which launched in 2026, its two imaging cameras and early mission data. Friends are to receive a registration link closer to the event date. The RAS page reports that the ramp is temporarily out of order and step-free access is unavailable.
