About

Researchers compare ways of identifying the onset of magnetospheric substorms and assess the timing accuracy of different observations.

The meeting considers auroral imaging, ground magnetometers, and in-situ and remote-sensing measurements. Participants discuss how onset signatures relate to each other and how more consistent timing could support tests of substorm theories. The detailed programme is still forthcoming. The RAS venue reports that its access ramp is temporarily out of order and step-free entry is unavailable; contact events@ras.ac.uk about access requirements.
