Exhibition Launch of Poxed: Germs in History
About
Launch event for the Poxed: Germs in History exhibition, with a reception and two short talks on plague and germs.
The Physicians' Gallery at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh launches its new exhibition 'Poxed: Germs in History', which uses books, illustrations and objects from the collections to trace humanity's changing relationship with microorganisms, from superstition and stigma to vaccines. The evening opens with a reception in the foyer, followed by two short talks: Professor Christos Lynteris on rats and the plague, and Professor Lukas Engelmann. Chaired by Dr Rebecca K Sutherland, the reception then continues with the chance to view the exhibition.
