New Faces, New Focus: Stories We Share
About
A touring exhibition of new photography and co-created artworks exploring journeys, identity and home, made with communities in Liverpool, Armagh and Aberdeenshire.
New Faces, New Focus: Stories We Share brings together new creative work by artists and community participants alongside objects and artworks from three UK museum collections, as part of Art Fund's Going Places touring programme. Developed through residencies in Liverpool City Region, Armagh and Aberdeenshire, it explores journeys, identity and home through the voices of communities whose stories have not always been represented in museum collections, including people with lived experience of migration and displacement. Artists including Anoosh Ariamehr, Nina Karetska, Abdullrhman Hassona, Rosalind Lowery, Catherine Willis and Nicole Gildea worked with local participants to co-create photography, sculpture, sewing and writing inspired by collections and personal experiences. The exhibition runs at Open Eye Gallery before touring to Armagh County Museum and the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum, with related displays at The Atkinson, Kirkby Gallery and The World of Glass.
