New Faces, New Focus @ The World of Glass
About
A touring photographic exhibition at The World of Glass showing portraits and stories made with the Cafe Laziz community in St Helens, exploring journeys, identity and belonging.
New Faces, New Focus: Stories We Share is a collaborative touring exhibition by Open Eye Gallery, Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, and Aberdeenshire Museums Service, part of the Art Fund's Going Places programme. At The World of Glass, the work was made with the Cafe Laziz community, whose members — many navigating new lives in the UK — worked with socially engaged photographer Abdullrhman Hassona, sharing meaningful objects and the stories attached to them. The resulting photographs show participants holding their objects, hands visible, accompanied by their own words about memory, identity and connection. The exhibition runs alongside related presentations at Open Eye Gallery, The Atkinson and Kirkby Gallery.
