About
A display brings together personal objects, memories and oral histories from people connected to the Aberfan disaster and its aftermath.
The display follows the responses of south Wales mining communities, colliery rescue teams, emergency services, volunteers and others after the disaster on 21 October 1966. It shares objects and recollections, including some shown publicly for the first time, and explores how the memory of Aberfan is carried across generations. The published run is 1 October 2026–1 October 2027. Museum admission is free.
