Bedford Choral Society

Bedford Choral Society with Bedford Sinfonia perform an all-British programme of Britten and Vaughan Williams at Bedford Corn Exchange.

Bedford Choral Society, conducted by Ian Smith with Bedford Sinfonia, present an all-British programme. The centrepiece is Britten's St Nicolas, a dramatic cantata in nine scenes depicting the life of Saint Nicolas, from his birth and miracles to a graphic storm sequence and his enduring legacy. The programme also includes Vaughan Williams' In Windsor Forest, adapted from his opera Sir John in Love, and Britten's Simple Symphony, based on works written in his youth.
