About
A free family-friendly self-guided ghost hunt around Shambles Market, running over Halloween half term from 24 October to 1 November 2026.
As part of the Haunted York programme, ten ghosts have been hidden around Shambles Market and visitors of all ages are recruited to join 'The Intervention' and track them down. Participants collect a free Ghost Hunt leaflet from the Visit York Visitor Information Centre at 28 Back Swinegate before searching the market. After completing the mission, visitors can browse the stalls and the Shambles Food Court.
