About

Aurora Orchestra and the BBC Singers perform psalm settings by Muhly, Bernstein and Bach, co-curated and introduced by Edmund de Waal.

Aurora Orchestra and the BBC Singers join forces for a programme built around the Psalms, spanning three centuries of settings. The concert features Nico Muhly's Frideswide Psalms, Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms and Bach's Magnificat in D major. Writer and artist Edmund de Waal co-curates and introduces the programme, reflecting on the Psalms as vessels of memory across the Abrahamic faiths, drawing on his work as a Schwarzman Centre Cultural Fellow at the University of Oxford.
