Safeguarding Season
About
A month-long season of exhibitions, services and events at Rochester Cathedral reflecting on and promoting the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
Rochester Cathedral marks its annual month-long Safeguarding Season with exhibitions and events inviting everyone to reflect on and promote the protection of children and vulnerable adults. A LOUDfence of ribbons on the Cathedral railings, expressing commitment to putting survivors and victims of abuse first, is formally launched on Wednesday 4 November at 2pm, and anyone may tie ribbons. Safeguarding Sunday on 15 November is marked with a eucharist at 10.30am and Choral Evensong at 3.15pm; on Friday 20 November at 7pm there is a free screening of the film 'Gaslight' in partnership with the Oasis Domestic Abuse charity, with information, advice and discussion. White Ribbon Day on Wednesday 25 November begins the 16 Days of Action campaign, highlighted in services that week, and the Diocese of Rochester hosts a Conference on Domestic Abuse on Thursday 26 November.
