The Honey-buzzard

A talk by Steve Roberts on his 40 years studying the rare and secretive Honey-buzzard, hosted by the Gloucestershire Raptor Monitoring Group.

Steve Roberts, who has studied Honey-buzzards for 40 years and published major papers on the species in British Birds, shares his knowledge of this rare and secretive raptor. The talk covers the birds' status in the UK — estimated at around 33 pairs but likely under-recorded — their habitat and food requirements, and his fieldwork at nest-sites, including ringing young birds. Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start, with a bar available; under-18s must be accompanied.
